EMDR Therapy

Healing trauma's tumultuous waters

"The wound is the place where the Light enters you." - Rumi

Hey there, brave soul.

I see you. You're carrying something heavy, aren't you? Maybe it's trauma that feels too big to face, memories that won't let you rest, or anxiety that follows you like a shadow. You've been treading water for so long, and you're tired.

What if I told you there's a way to not just survive those deep waters, but to find peace within them? EMDR therapy isn't about forgetting what happened to you. Instead, it's about changing how those experiences live in your body and mind.

You don't have to carry this alone anymore. Let's dive deep and find the healing that's waiting for you.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is like giving your brain permission to finally process what it couldn't handle before. When trauma happens, sometimes our minds get stuck and we begin to live life around our triggers.

EMDR helps process the areas where we get stuck. Using gentle bilateral stimulation, we help your brain naturally process traumatic memories without the overwhelming charge they once carried.

EMDR can help you navigate:

Trauma & PTSD

Whether it's a single incident or complex trauma from childhood, EMDR can help your nervous system find calm again.

Anxiety & Panic

When your body feels unsafe even when you're safe, EMDR can help restore that sense of security within.

Depression

Especially when depression stems from difficult life experiences, EMDR can help lift that heavy fog.

Grief & Loss

When grief feels stuck or complicated, EMDR can help you honor your loss while finding your way forward.

How We'll Work Together

Healing isn't one-size-fits-all. That's why I offer different ways to approach your EMDR journey:

Weekly EMDR Sessions

50-90 minutes weekly

Perfect for gentle, gradual processing. We'll take it at your pace, with time to integrate between sessions. This approach works beautifully for complex trauma or when you need ongoing support for life stressors.

Intensive EMDR Retreats Coming Soon

2-6 hour sessions or multi-day intensives

Sometimes you need to dive deep quickly. Intensives can accelerate healing for specific incidents, perfect for when you're ready to make significant progress or when weekly sessions aren't practical. Currently developing this offering - stay tuned!

Questions You Might Have

It's natural to have questions about EMDR. Here are some answers to common concerns:

Is EMDR safe? Will it retraumatize me?

EMDR is very safe when done by a trained therapist. We go slowly, and you're always in control. We spend significant time preparing and building your resources before processing trauma. You'll never be pushed beyond what feels manageable.

How long will EMDR take?

Every person's healing journey is unique. Single-incident trauma might resolve in 6-12 sessions, while complex trauma often takes longer. The important thing is that you're finally moving toward healing.

Do I have to talk about every detail of my trauma?

No, you don't. EMDR doesn't require you to relive or describe traumatic events in detail. You'll focus on the memory briefly while we use bilateral stimulation, but you won't be asked to verbally process everything that happened.

What if I can't remember my trauma clearly?

That's okay. EMDR can work with whatever you do remember including emotions, body sensations, images, or just a general sense of distress. Your brain knows what it needs to heal, even when your conscious mind doesn't have all the details.

Ready to Begin?

You've been carrying this burden long enough. It's time to set it down and discover the peace that's waiting for you.
